“I’m Somebody Now!”

I’ve been sitting on some news. I haven’t posted in a long time because I’ve been busy. You see, last fall I finished the sequel to Endurance. I sent it off to my publisher—you might have heard their squeals of joy. I signed the contract before they’d finished reading it, which made me very nervous. I kept expecting them to write back, uh, we’ve changed our mind. . .

But they didn’t. And now I can talk about it!

When I put THE END at the end of Endurance, I felt the story was. . . not necessarily done, but that I’d left readers in a good place, knowing everything was going to work out just fine. Silly me.

They had questions. They wanted more. I would never force a story based on someone’s request, so I had to sit and think about what might happen next. It’s not obvious from Endurance. The sequel is a very different story, though some threads continue, some characters reappear. But I had an interesting What If? moment and decided to play with it and see where it went.

Sometimes when you write a story you are foreshadowing plotlines you’re not even aware of. I won’t say what those were or where they took me. I’ll leave that for you to read. So, without further ado, and with a apologies to Steve Martin, my new book is here! My new book is here!

Meet Tenacity.

Captain Lyn Randall and Dr. Diana Teegan are determined to keep secret the tech they used to open a traversable wormhole. But when someone they trust makes an incredible revelation and a startling request, they must make split-second decisions about whom they can trust—to protect their family, themselves . . . and Earth. This sequel to the award-winning Endurance takes Captain Lyn Randall and her crew on a daring adventure from Earth to the stars—one that questions the very nature of what it means to be human.
